MIRA Safety is a Texas-based company that makes CBRN (Chemical, Biological, Radiological, Nuclear) protective equipment for civilian and professional markets. The CM-6M full-face mask is rated for NBC (Nuclear, Biological, Chemical) agents using standard 40mm NATO filter threads — meaning you can use MIRA filters or any compatible 40mm NATO filter worldwide.
Dust masks and N95s are not CBRN masks. Smoke masks protect against particulates, not chemical agents or biological threats. A genuine CBRN mask requires airtight face seal, appropriate filter certification, and rated materials in the mask body itself. The CM-6M meets these requirements; gas station N95s do not.
The international 40mm NATO thread standard means MIRA filters, German military surplus filters, Czech M10M filters, and dozens of other certified filter options all work with the CM-6M. Filter supply is not bottlenecked to a single manufacturer.
