The Autel EVO Nano+ is the choice for operators who need to fly where DJI says no. No geo-fencing, no fly zones, no manufacturer lockouts. 4K capability in a 249g package.

Autel does not geo-fence its drones. That single fact makes the EVO Nano+ worth evaluating for operators who operate in areas DJI has arbitrarily blocked — military bases, government facilities, industrial zones. Autel puts that decision in the operator's hands.
The 50MP 1/1.28" sensor is a genuine step up from the Mini 4 Pro on still imaging, though the video pipeline falls slightly short. 4K/30fps is clean; expect 1080p for smooth 60fps work. The 3-axis gimbal handles wind and movement well at moderate speeds.
At 249g, the Nano+ lands in the same registration-light category as the Mini 4 Pro. Build quality is solid — the magnesium frame feels more substantial than DJI's polycarbonate construction at this weight class.
In practice, this matters. DJI's geo-fencing has blocked operators from legitimate flights in areas DJI has flagged as restricted. Unlocking requires account verification, FAA authorization linkage, and DJI's approval. Autel requires nothing — you're responsible for knowing your airspace rules, as it should be.
The ecosystem is thinner. Autel's obstacle avoidance is less sophisticated than APAS 5.0. Battery life is 28 minutes, and the controller's phone mount is less refined. For pure ISR at range, the Mini 4 Pro wins on transmission quality.
If geo-fence freedom is a requirement, the EVO Nano+ is your platform. If you operate in permissive airspace, the Mini 4 Pro offers better overall capability for similar weight and cost.
